Lifetime Aftercare

As soon as a new patient arrives, the Courage to Change staff starts working toward the time they will leave. The time at the Ranch is not Recovery; it is just the beginning.

It is in the outside world that former residents will need every lesson they learned at the Ranch, every support system they can develop, every treasured insight...to really consolidate and progress their respective Recoveries.

We try to "transition" them, and send them out with some of the tools they need. Beyond that, we cannot be there to hold their hands.

Or can we?

Actually, we're only a phone call away. Very few of our residents leave, never to be heard from again. Many call frequently during their first weeks, to talk to staff or other residents, or to maintain their nutritional regimens. And many return for our weekly Talking Circles, or for our Sweats, to reaffirm their spirits and community...and ours.
